Most of the symptoms of this condition are as painful as embarrassing and manifest through constipation, bloating, acute belly pain. Most doctors today agree on a pills prescription that assures no cure for the problem. Although irritable bowel syndrome is considered an incurable health condition, there are a few things one can try to ameliorate the symptoms.

1. Sodium Bicarbonate, a Natural Treatment for IBS

In most cases the bowel becomes irritated due to inappropriate diet and the symptoms are pains on the left side where gases accumulate followed by bloating and often times constipation. In this situation take 1/2 tsp. of sodium bicarbonate with 1 cup of water. The symptoms will disappear soon afterwards.

2. Blueberries Tea for IBS with Diarrhea

Blueberries are just as effective in treating diarrhea as the rice and banana regime. Have 1-2 tsp. of dried and crushed blueberries three times per day or make a decoction as follows. Add 1-2 tsp. of crushed fruits in 250 ml of hot water. Boil the fruits for 5 minutes.

3. Mustard Seeds Treatment

However, as a long term treatment for complete healing this is what you have to do. Take 1 tsp. of mustard seeds 3 times per day, in the morning, afternoon and evening. Swallow the mustard seeds with a bit of water. This cure lasts for 1 month and then a month pause. The mustard seed cure help the colon congestion eliminating the toxins.

4. Olive Oil IBS Cure 

All you need to do is to try this amazing olive oil cure. Basically you need to have every night before bedtime two tablespoons of extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and a little natural lemon juice to cut of the vomiting that might be induced by the olive oil.

5. Propolis Tincture Remedy for IBS

Take 30 drops of propolis daily three times per day, 1 hour before the main meals. Once every trimester you can try the pollen cure. Have 20 gr of pollen first thing in the morning on an empty stomach along with 100 ml of water and a tsp. of honey. This is a 4 week-cure.

6. Oak Bark Tea Heals IBS

Add 1 tsp of oak tree bark into 1 cold cup of water. Leave to soak a bit and then boil it to obtain the decoction. Have 3 cups of this tea daily. When you start feeling better, have only 2 cups of this tea per day, along with mint, St. John’s wort and linden flower tea as well.Drink the teas unsweetened.

7. Motherwort Remedy

If your irritable bowel syndrome has a nervous system implication, then make motherwort tea and drink 2-3 cups per day. St. John’s wort is also amazing.

8. Horsetail Tea Remedy

Drink 2 cups of horsetail tea daily, 15-20 minutes before the main meals. After it starts to boil, leave to simmer for 2-3 minutes, then cover and in 10-15 minutes you can slip the tea.

9. Calamus Root Treatment for IBS

Take 1 pinch of calamus root powder three times per day before the meals. Chew on it and then swallow with yarrow, horsetail and sage infusion (1 tsp of each plant per 3 cups of water).

  • Have plenty of boiled unsalted rice with banana or carrots; eat at least twice a day unsalted rice with 1 banana
  • Apples, bananas, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and other wild berries should also be on your list
  • As meat goes, you may eat chicken or veal, boiled or cooked in a pressure cooking pot
  • Have a light dinner consisting of yogurt with compote, tea or milk, nothing to cause constipation
  • Flavor your food with herbs such as: parsley, bay leaves, lemon
  • Use beetroot, carrots, celery root, grated apples for salads
  • Bake your own bread, if possible gluten free
  • Avoid: hot pepper, pepper, mustard, raw onions, garlic, pickles, beans, cabbage, alcohol, sodas and tobacco
  • Avoid: fried foods, smoked meat or deli, pork, duck, turkey, fat fish
  • Cut down/exclude gluten and dairy if you have any intolerance.
