MyNaturalTreatment.com was launched in 2011 and is one of the largest natural remedies websites on the Internet. All the plant-based cures and remedies come from various qualified sources, namely naturopath physicians and patients who have used them successfully, and others have been passed on through generations by word of mouth. Most of the remedies here are from The Danube Valley civilization, one of the oldest civilizations that ever existed, and the oldest one in Europe. We have gathered them in one of the largest collections of home remedies on the web. Our purpose is to help people learn about old natural remedies, herb uses and benefits, and the basics of herbal medicine from this part of the world.
To understand a little bit about the background, and where these remedies come from, we leave you with this. Plato (427 – 347 BC), Socrates’ pupil and the teacher of Aristotle, captures in the dialogue “Carmides” a discussion between Socrates and his pupil Carmides, in which the teacher tells Carmides what a Thracian doctor taught him when he was in the army. The Thracian doctor told Socrates:
“Zalmoxe, our king, who is a god, tells us that just as we should not try to take care of the eyes with disregard to the head, the head cannot be taken care of, regardless of the body. In the same way, we must take care of the body together with the soul, and this is why Greek doctors are not good at treating most diseases. Because they don’t understand the whole that they have to take care of. If the whole is sick, the part cannot be healthy, as all the good and the bad things for the body come from the soul, and from there they flow as from a spring, from the head to the eyes. We must, therefore, above all, heal the source of evil so that the head and the rest of the body can enjoy good health. My friend, the soul is healed through enchantments. These enchantments are beautiful words that invite wisdom to be born into our souls”.
