9 Powerful Natural Remedies for Kidney Cysts
1. Burdock Leaf Juice and Decoction
Burdock (Arctium lappa) is considered by herbalists to be one of the most effective plants in fighting cysts, including kidney cysts. Back in the day when modern medicine hadn’t yet reached rural areas, villagers would use the juice extracted from the fresh green leaves of the plant to treat themselves of kidney cysts. They would pick the leaves in the morning, wash and pad dry them. Since the juice spoils quickly, they would make only small quantities at a time.
A burdock leaf juice cure lasts for 30 days. In the first two days, have one teaspoon of juice in the morning and evening, before meals. Over the next two days, drink the same amount three times a day. After that, the dose is increased to one tablespoon, three times per day. For a more powerful effect, the burdock leaf juice treatment is associated with a black poplar leaf powder (Populus nigra). Add a pinch of powder to each tablespoon of juice.
After 30 days pause and drink burdock root decoction instead. Make the decoction by simmering 2 tablespoons of dried and chopped burdock root into 200 ml of boiling water for 20 minutes. Allow to cool, strain, and drink in 3-4 reps. Concomitantly, apply fresh burdock root leaves over the kidney area (with the whitish part down). Keep the leaves on for at least 8-10 hours. Harvest burdock root leaves and dry them whole, for the wintertime. Soak them in hot water before applying them.
2. Black Poplar Bark Powder
Ground and sift the dried black poplar bark (Populus nigra). The larger pieces that remain in the sieve can be used for infusions, while the fine powder is stored in an airtight jar. A teaspoon of bark is taken three times a day, 15 minutes before meals, with a cup of warm water for 14 days. Pause for 7 days and resume if needed.
3. Parsley Leaves and Root
Parsley leaves and roots have beneficial effects on kidney function and can make a great remedy for kidney cysts. Combine fresh or dried parsley leaves with finely chopped parsley roots (the ratios are not set). Steep 400 grams of this mix in one liter (4 cups) of boiling water for 8 hours in a thermos or in a covered pot wrapped in a thick blanket. Strain the warm parsley infusion and drink 100 ml every hour throughout the day.
4. Carrot Seed Powder
When kidney cysts cause high blood pressure, carrot seed powder is used as a remedy. Simmer one tablespoon (10 g) of the carrot seed powder for 10 minutes in 500 ml of boiling water. If you experience exceedingly high blood pressure, add 7 large unpeeled garlic cloves pierced in two places with a knife to the infusion. After a 27-day treatment, pause for 10 days. The mixture is consumed until blood pressure stabilizes.
5. Elecampane Kombucha
Elecampane is a medicinal plant especially used in curing cysts, regardless of their location. For kidney cysts, prepare the following drink. Add one tablespoon of fresh yeast and 2 tablespoons of raw honey in 1.5 liters of boiled and chilled water. Mix and then add 4-5 tablespoons of finely chopped elecampane root. Cover the jar with cheesecloth and leave it in a dark place at room temperature for 2-3 days, then store it in the fridge.
Drink 100-150 ml between meals, three times a day, until consuming the entire fermented drink. Pause for 3 weeks and resume if needed. Optionally, you can also add three tablespoons of dried burdock root or common knotweed to the drink before the fermentation process.
6. Calendula and Denseflower Mullein Tincture
Calendula and mullein tincture is another natural remedy for cysts, regardless of their location. To make the tincture, fill half of a jar with dried calendula flowers (without pressing them down), then add the same amount of dried mullein flowers (Verbascum densiflorum) on top. Pour homemade alcohol over the flowers until they are covered by about a finger with alcohol. Seal the jar tightly and let it steep for 14 days.
Strain the tincture and pour in amber glass bottles. The dosage is one teaspoon, three times a day, 30 minutes before meals for the first 5 days. Then increase to one tablespoon of tincture. To avoid alcohol, opt for glycerin tinctures of calendula and denseflower mullein.
7. Green Walnuts and Honey
Combine equal amounts of green walnuts and raw honey and leave to macerate in a tightly sealed jar for one month. Keep the jar in a dark place. Take one tablespoon of the remedy three times a day, between meals. Before consuming, add 15 drops of echinacea extract to it. The cure lasts for six months.
8. Herbal Remedy for Kidney Cysts
Combine equal amounts of cowberry leaves (Vaccinium vitis-idaea), corn silk, flax seeds, linden flowers, dandelion root, motherwort, agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria), and wild pansy. Ideally, use a coffee grinder to make a finer herbal blend. Add 2 tablespoons of the blend in a thermos and pour 500 ml (2 cups) of hot water over it. Steep for 8-10 hours and drink 60-75 ml, three times per day. Follow for three weeks, pause for one week, and resume if needed.
9. Herbal Blend for Kidney Cysts
Combine one tablespoon each of birch leaves, nettle leaves, bay leaves, chamomile flowers, blackcurrant leaves, dill seeds, and rose hips. Chop the herbs finely. Macerate the herbs in 250 ml of cold water for 4 hours, then strain. Pour 250 ml of boiling water over the plants steep for another 4 hours, then strain again. Combine the cold maceration and the infusion and drink 75 ml three times per day, between meals. Follow for three weeks, pause for one week, and resume if needed.

Simmer the plants in one cup (250 ml) of boiling water until half the water is evaporated. Steep until cool, and strain. For children suffering from chronic kidney failure, combine 3 parts Iceland moss and 2 parts each of birch leaves, horsetail, nettle leaves, and spiny restharrow root (Ononis spinosa).
