The burdock root poultice has quick beneficial effects in the case of acute joint inflammation and it is used successfully in arthritis, joint injury, tendon inflammation (tendinitis), dislocations, contusions, and hematomas. Here is how you can prepare and use this healing poultice at home.

Blend all the ingredients in a food processor, blender, or mixer until you obtain a homogenous and fine paste, with a sticky dough consistency. If you don’t know whether the burdock root quantity is enough, the rule is one part olive oil to 6 parts burdock root. The burdock paste can be stored in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for several weeks.

How to Use

Apply the paste in a thick layer of 0.5 cm on the affected area, cover it with a piece of clean cloth, and secure it with a piece of sterile gauze. After 1-2 hours, check to see if the paste has dried. If not, leave it on some more, as long as the sensation on the skin is pleasant. After the paste has dried, remove it and make a new one. Repeat a few times a day for a few days until complete healing.
