How to Make and Enjoy

Steep 1 tsp of the herbal blend in a cup of hot water (ideally spring water) for 5-7 minutes and strain. The water temperature should barely reach the boiling point (90-95°C/194-203°F). Drink the tea warm before bedtime (you can sweeten it with raw honey to taste). You may not have a lucid dream after the first cup, but consistency is key. Drinking this tea tea daily for at least 3 weeks will give you the results you need. Keep the herbal blend in a sealed glass jar.

How These Herbs for Lucid Dreaming Work

Chamomile – is known for its calming properties and is believed to promote relaxation and better sleep; it contains 2 water-soluble compounds: apigenin and bisabolol which act similarly to the opium alkaloid papaverine, which makes chamomile a natural alternative to conventional antispasmodic drugs, and possibly explains why it is one of the best herbs for lucid dreaming. Apigenin is an organic compound that acts as a binder to the central benzodiazepine receptors, making chamomile a natural sleep aid.

Lemon Balm – this medicinal plant strengthens the entire nervous system and is an essential herb for calming the nerves. Lemon balm contains a compound called terpene that helps relieve anxiety, stress, depression, and insomnia, preparing the mind for profound dreaming.

Linden Flowers – contain active principles that induce sleep, acting through a mechanism similar to that of the allopathic drug benzodiazepine, making them one of the best natural medicines for stress, restlessness, and insomnia. Similar to chamomile, linden flowers are one of the best herbs for lucid dreaming.

Sweet Woodruff – contains compounds with a bitter and slightly astringent taste, including coumarin, with neuroprotective and antihypertensive effects, and has been used since ancient times as a heart tonic, but also for calming anger, hysteria, and insomnia. Is believed to be toxic in large doses!

Marjoram – a hot cup of marjoram tea works wonders for stress, asthenia, and mental overload as it enveils the body into a pleasant warmth, inducing a complete body relaxation, as if by magic. Its essential oils induce sleep and can alleviate sleep problems, as multiple studies show.

Other Tips for Lucid Dreaming

Create a bedtime ritual to prepare your body for a night’s rest and lucid dreaming. For instance, change into your pajamas, brush your teeth, read a few pages from a book, and turn off the lights in the same order every night before bed. Here are other tips for a good night of lucid dreaming.

  1. Avoid energizing drinks and foods (coffee, cola, chocolate, mate, matcha, guarana, cacao, and black or green tea) three to four hours before going to bed – caffeine also calcifies the pineal gland.
  2. Reduce or avoid drinking alcohol as in the long run, frequent alcohol consumption leads to restless and shallow sleep and opens portals to spirits that are not of a positive vibration.
  3. Eat a light dinner, as heavy meals in the evening stimulate digestion, causing restless sleep, insomnia, or nightmares.
  4. Keep your feet always warm (a pair of cotton or woolen socks can help).
  5. Do not practice sports late in the evening, as your body will get pumped up.
  6. Also avoid watching movies, staying up on your phone, or engaging in heated discussions at night, instead read a book, as reading relaxes the mind, and quickly induces sleep.
  7. Make sure you have a pleasant atmosphere in your bedroom with little to no noise and reduced or dimmed light.
  8. If you have frequent nightmares, put a few amethyst stones under or in your pillow sack as amethyst favors sleep, soothes stress, and calms anxiety, and neurosis.
  9. Last but not least, express your intent to lucid dreaming, so that your conscious and subconscious minds are both onboard and ready.

Instead of curling up in bed waiting to fall asleep, get up and do something that you enjoy, with which to occupy your time, until your feeling of fatigue returns. Reading a book is one of the easiest ways to fast asleep.
