How to Make Comfrey Root Powder

Thoroughly wash the comfrey roots and split them lengthwise into thin strips, and arrange them in a thin layer on a table in a shaded area to dry naturally. Drying is finished when they become rigid and make a snap sound when you break them between your fingers. After complete drying, keep them in a paper bag or glass jar before using them. Now finely grind the dried comfrey roots using a coffee grinder (if there are any unground bits left, sieve them out) and store the comfrey root powder in a sealed glass jar.

How to Use Comfrey Root Powder

The regular adult dosage is one teaspoon 3 times a day, for children between 2 and 12 years old, the dose is halved, and for children under 2 years old, the dosage is one teaspoon a day. However, dosage depends on the health condition. Keep the comfrey root powder under the tongue for 10-15 minutes, then swallow it with a little water. For internal use, you can supplement with comfrey root powder for a maximum of two months, then pause for 14-21 days and resume if needed.

2. Injuries, Sprains, Fractures, Rheumatic Pain & Arthritis

In case of injuries and rheumatic pain, comfrey root powder is used topically together with St. John’s wort-infused oil, as follows. Combine one or more tablespoons of comfrey root powder with St. John’s wort oil and some boiling water, until you make a more solid consistency paste.
