Conjunctivitis is one of the most common conditions that affects the eyes. Practically, conjunctivitis is the inflammation of the conjunctiva. That is the outermost layer of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids.

Another highly efficient natural treatment for conjunctivitis is the seabuckthorn oil. All you have to do is to pour 2-3 drops of seabuckthorn oil in the morning and other 2-3 drops in the night and you conjunctivitis will disappear. This remedy is also very good at curing blepharitis.

2. Yarrow Remedy for Conjunctivitis

Is also a very good natural treatment for conjunctivitis because it is a very powerful antiseptic and pain relief. Use yarrow in ripen compresses and place it on the eyes as often as possible.

To make sure that you treat conjunctivitis for good using vine sap for gently and thoroughly washing your eyes. You can harvest the vine sap in the spring time, during the cutting of the grape vine. 3. Dill Treatment for Conjunctivitis

Dill is amazingly good in treating conjunctivitis. Here is how you can use it most efficiently. You can use dill in fumigation as well as in steams. Smash a tsp. of dill seeds and put them in a pot.

Pour hot water over the seeds and you can start your inhalations. Make 10 minutes inhalations with a towel over your head. Dill is amazing in all sorts of eye conditions such as swollen eyelids and other sorts.

4. Drug Eye-bright Treatment for Conjunctivitis

This is another herb that has a natural power to heal eye irritations as well as conjunctivitis. Here is how you can use it. Scald 1/2 tsp. of drug eyebright in a cup of hot water and let it infuse for 1-2 minutes. After it has cooled down, use the drug eyebright tea to apply a compress on your closed eyelids. Keep the compress on for 5-10 minutes and repeat the procedure several times per day.

Use pumpkin pulp to heal this dreadful eye condition and ease your pain immediately. Take a piece of pumpkin pulp, mix it well and apply it on the closed eyes as a cataplasm. The relief is immediate.

5. Eggs Whites & Sugar Treatment

Break 1 sugar cube in fine crystals using a glass bottle and then pass it through a sieve or a fine cheesecloth and put it in a clean paper bag/envelope. Separate the egg yolk from the white very well and whisk the whites until they harden.

Make a sterile compress of sterile gauze and place in over the eyes.

Place the whisked egg whites in small buttes, one over each eye. Sprinkle a bit of sugar over each butte. Place one single sheet of gauze on top of the whites and you’re ready to apply the compress on the eyes, with the up side down. Wrap the compress on place with a gauze and leave it on overnight. Repeat three nights in a row. Also, wash your eyes every morning with chamomile tea.

Or try another simpler home remedy for conjunctivitis with eggs.

Mix together 1 egg yolk, a bit of warm milk and whole rye bread core until you obtain a homogenous paste. Apply the paste on the closed eyelids for 15 minutes. Repeat the procedure every 2 hours.

3 Home Remedies for Acute Conjunctivitis

1. Marigold Tea Remedy 

Make one large cup of marigold tea and add 5 drops of Swedish bitter in it. Use a pipette to add drops of this tea in your eyes. Wipe your eyes clean with marigold tea and then anoint them with natural marigold balm.

2. Lime Tree Honey Heals Conjunctivitis

Heat up just a tiny bit the honey over fire just so that it become really fluid. Use a cotton bud to add some honey in the inner corner of your affected eye, near your nose. It will sting a bit and you’ll tear abundantly but this is a sign that the infection comes out. Always wash your hands when doing this remedy and work as sterile and clean as possible.

3. Rowan Herb Treatment 

Drink as much rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) leaves tea, it is amazing with conjunctivitis.


Natural Treatment for Purulent Conjunctivitis

Acacia Honey is amazing with purulent conjunctivitis. This is how you can use it as a remedy.

  1. Wipe your eyes clean with a sterile compress.
  2. Then apply a thin layer of pure and organic acacia honey using a clean finger.
  3. Make sure you’ve washed your hands really well in advance.
  4. When the honey reaches your eyes, you will feel a sting for the following seconds and then a lot of tearing.
  5. Use a sterile compress to wipe off your tears gently.

Avoid leaving the house for the next 2-3 days, while you’re doing this treatment so you don’t come into contact with irritant factors from outside. Make sure you have this honey on your eyelids all day long.

In 2-3 days of treatment, the conjunctivitis will mostly be gone.
