- Experimental Studies: Animal research has demonstrated that aluminum exposure results in cardiac dysfunction, including left ventricular dilation and reduced ejection fraction. Laboratory studies have shown that aluminum exposure induces significant ultrastructural damage in the heart, leading to electrocardiogram alterations associated with cardiomyocyte necrosis, apoptosis, inflammation, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction.
