Want to learn how to use Aloe Vera as Lubricant? Aloe Vera is an amazing natural lube that you can easily make at home.
Aloe Vera gel has regenerating and cicatrizing properties for the skin and mucous membranes and is a useful tool for women’s problems. We’re talking especially dryness of the vagina which can become a problem when estrogen drops (starting from premenopause). The Aloe plant knows how to protect itself from dehydration, burns, and injuries caused by solar radiation, and thus is soothing not only against vaginal dryness but also for burns and injuries caused by radiation, for instance in cancer therapy or laser treatments for warts. Today we’re going to show you how to use Aloe Vera as lubricant, with a 100% natural lube recipe.
Can You Use Aloe Vera as Lube?
Yes, and the reason is that natural Aloe Vera gel restores the vaginal mucosa, at the same time protecting it to some extent against bacteria or fungi. Applied daily or as often as possible, this natural gel regenerates even the chronically irritated vaginal mucosa and acts as a natural lube. The reason is that Aloe Vera gel has anti-inflammatory, cicatrizing, cooling, antipruritic, slightly antifungal, and antibacterial effects, as well as epithelizing moisturizing, and regenerating properties for the skin, and mucosa. This makes Aloe Vera a fantastic natural lube.
How to Make Aloe Vera Lube?
The commercially available Aloe Vera gel is obtained by removing the skin of the leaves and cold-pressing the core. To extend its shelf life, companies add preservatives such as potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, sodium sulfite, and citric acid. If you want to avoid these preservatives, you can easily prepare your own natural lube with Aloe Vera gel. In this case, it is best to grow several Aloe Vera plants in your home so you can prepare the gel yourself, from the leaves of mature plants.
- Peel a fresh aloe leaf well, until only the transparent and sticky core remains. Be sure to remove all the yellow and bitter parts, because they irritate the skin.
- Cut the core into several pieces, put them in a glass mortar, and mash them into a homogeneous paste, or you can blend them into a gel using a high-speed blender.
Ideally, use the freshly made Aloe Vera gel on the spot. The best way to store the Aloe Vera gel for later use is to divide it into small portions and freeze it. Take a small piece of gel to defrost it, a couple of hours before use. It can be used for a maximum of two days.
Tip! To prolong the self-life of the Aloe Vera lube and boost its antimicrobial therapeutic properties, you can add therapeutic grade essential oils and colloidal silver, for example, 2 to 5 drops of lavender essential oil, tea tree or rosemary essential oil and 5 to 10 drops of pure colloidal silver per 10 ml of Aloe Vera gel. These essential oils act as natural preservatives, in which case you can store the gel in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks. The best time to harvest Aloe Vera leaves to make the lube, is when the crescent Moon is in a water sign.
How to Use Aloe Vera as Lubricant?
To use Aloe Vera as lubricant, apply the gel with your clean fingers, on the mucosa at the entrance of the vagina. For vagina care, use daily, or when needed. In addition to the lubrication effect, Aloe Vera gel regenerates the affected vaginal mucosa affected by vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS), alleviates vaginal dryness, and calms the irritated vaginal mucosa affected by eczema, following irradiation or laser treatment. For vaginal mucosa inflammation, inserted the Aloe Vera gel with essential oils and/or colloidal silver into the vagina, using a clean, disposable syringe. Using Aloe Vera topically does not have any health risks, if you have no sensitivities to Aloe Vera.
