7 Effective Home Remedies for Nail Fungus

1. Vinegar Remedy for Nail Fungus

This remedy is very easy to do and highly effective at the same time. All you have to do is submerge your infected toenail in a diluted vinegar mix 30 minutes 3 times per day (morning, afternoon, evening).

You may also use this water diluted vinegar(1 part natural vinegar 1 part water) to make a poultice that you can apply overnight over then nail fungus.

Next morning, try to remove as much of the now softened infection tissue under the nail as possible, using the tip of a nail file.

Repeat the procedure every day until complete healing. It may take up to 1 months until complete healing with this vinegar remedy.

2. Gentian Violet Toenail Fungus Remedy

Get a bottle of gentian violet (or crystal violet) from your local drug store and use it to anoint the affected toenails.

Next day, brew a strong coffee (10 tsp. coffee per 150 ml water) and introduce several times your toenails in this coffee, 2-3 minutes at a time. Leave the toenails to dry our without wiping them.

Continue the coffee treatment for the next week, and if your nail fungus hasn’t gone yet, resume once again with the gentian violet in the first day, followed by 6 days using the coffee external cure.

3. Baking Soda Heals Nail Mycosis

In the evening before bed make a hot feet bath in which you dissolve 1 tbsp. of backing soda per 1 L of water.

If your fungus toenails are thickened use a sharp instrument to scrape the excess and thin them as much as possible without hurting yourself.

Locally apply a cream that uses naftifine hydrochloride as main ingredient and mix it with another one using niastatine (2:1) and 1 gr salicylic acid.

After you apply this homemade mixture, wrap the toenails with a plastic wrap and get socks on.

4. Propolis, a Home Remedy for Nail Fungus

This is perhaps the simplest yet very effective natural remedy for nail fungus.

Simply anoint the twice a day the affected areas with a cotton pad that has been soaked in propolis tincture.

By applying propolis twice a day, in morning and in the evening, the fungus infection will go away in 3-4 days.

5. Salicylic Acid, a Great Toenail Fungus Medicine

Another simple remedy is this one using salicylic acid. All you have to do is add a pinch of salicylic acid per 1 L of warm water in a basin and soak your feet in it for 30 minutes.

Make sure the water level is high enough to cover the soles of your feet. Use a pumice stone to scrape the toenail afterwards.

Repeat the procedure 3-4 times per day until you manage to get rid of as much of the infected nail as possible.

Pause for 2 weeks and resume the cure. Your toenails will grow back strong and healthy!

6. Nettle Tea, a Homemade Remedy for Toenail Fungus

Drink 2 cups of unsweetened stinging nettle a day. You can make it taste better by adding mint, chamomile or linden into the tea.

This stinging nettle tea cure will help your nails grow back normally and healthy.

It is important that you continue the treatment for a few weeks even after the nail has completely recovered.

7. An Easy Treatment for Nail Fungus with Hydrogen Peroxide

Another great remedy for nail fungus is hydrogen peroxide. Soak your toenails in hydrogen peroxide (3% concentration) for 3 minutes in the evening, 2-3 days in a row.

After the 3 minutes, wipe your nails well and anoint them all with oily Vitamin A, by making sure the vitamin goes under the nails as well.

You may continue with Vitamin A, 1-2 weeks after the fungus infection has gone completely.
