7️ Homemade Skin Care Recipes with Chamomile


1. Chamomile Water for Fine Wrinkles

Chamomile water, which actually is a simple cold overnight macerate mixed with a chamomile infusion has many skin benefits.

Used regularly, chamomile water has a refreshing effect on the skin, it reduces fine wrinkles and repairs the skin.

Here is how you can make it.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons fresh or dried chamomile flowers, chopped
  • 1 cup water

How to Make:

Pour 1/2 cup of cold water over 2 tbsp of chamomile flowers. Cover and leave overnight, then strain.

Pour the other 1/2 cup of now boiling water over the other 2 tbsp of chamomile flowers. Cover and leave to infuse for 20 minutes, then strain.

Mix the cold macerate and the infusion together and the water is ready.

Store the water in a glass bottle in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

How to Use:

Pad your skin with chamomile water every evening, after previously having cleansed the skin.

2. Chamomile & Salt Wash for Acne

This simple and all natural face and body wash leaves the skin soft, silky and smooth. And, in time, it heal acne and pimples on the face and body.

It has disinfecting and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin, cleansing and repairing it at the same time.

Ingredients:

  • 7 heaped tbsp chamomile flowers
  • 3 tbsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 liter of water

How to Make:

Pour the boiling water over the chamomile flowers. Stir and let it sit for 15 minutes. Strain the tea, add salt and mix until completely dissolved.

How to Use:

Pour the chamomile salt water into the full bathtub and bathe for at least 10 minutes in it. Wash the acne areas especially. This is for the body wash.

For face wash, make half of the quantity in the recipe, and pour it in a basin. Add fresh water to dilute it. Wash your face, your neck and decolletage with it for 5 minutes.

3. Chamomile & Honey Face Mask for Dull Skin

This simple chamomile mask invigorates dull and pale complexion, boost skin elasticity and softness.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp concentrated chamomile infusion
  • same amount of honey
  • same amount powdered milk

How to Make & Use:

Mix the powdered milk with the chamomile infusion, then add the honey. Apply on the face and neck. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash the mask off with warm water.

4. Chamomile & Propolis Face Mask for Dilated Pores

This natural mask is ideal for fat skin with tendency towards acne, as well as dilated pores and excess sebum.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp concentrated chamomile infusion
  • 2 tbsp fresh yeast
  • 6 drops propolis tincture

How to Make & Use:

Mix the yeast with the chamomile infusion, then add the propolis. Apply the mask on the face and neck, and leave it on until it dries completely. Wash it off with warm water.

5. Chamomile Oil for Very Dry & Damaged Skin

Chamomile oil softens the skin, and soothes irritations. It is also very effective for very dry, wrinkled or cracked skin and sunburns.

You can also use it as a natural make-up removal. Simply add a few chamomile oil drops on a cotton pad and remove makeup.

Ingredients:

  • cold pressed olive oil
  • crushed, fresh or dried chamomile flowers

How to Make & Use:

Fill a bottle up with chamomile flowers without stuffing them. Pour oil over the flowers until covered. Seal tight and leave in the sun for 14 days. Strain and pour the chamomile oil in a dark glass container. Keep it in a cool place.

Apply the chamomile oil on the entire body, every evening after shower. Massage it lightly into the skin.

6. Chamomile Face Cream DIY

Used daily on the face and body, this 100% natural chamomile cream protects and nourishes dry and rough skin and heals irritations.

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml cold pressed olive oil (you can also use sesame or sunflower oil)
  • 3 tbsp freshly chopped chamomile flowers (or 4 tbsp of crushed dried flowers)
  • 200 g of beeswax, grated

How to Make & Use:

Heat up the oil in a saucepan, on a steam bath. Add the flowers and boil them for 5-6 minutes in the oil, while stirring. Pull the saucepan aside, mix, cover and leave the oil overnight in a cool room.

Next day, heat it back over steam until it starts to boil a few minutes. Strain the oil (squeeze by and with a gauze). Add the grated beeswax in the warm oil and mix the wax until it melts in completely.

Pour the now cream is a glass container. After it has cooled down, keep it in the refrigerator.

7. Hydrating Lotion for All Skin Types

This homemade chamomile lotion will soften and refresh the skin and give it this silky-smooth feel. It can be used for all skin types.

As with all homemade skin products, prepared the lotion using fresh ingredients and keep it in the fridge.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sized cucumber
  • 1 tbsp dry chamomile flowers
  • 2 tbsp vegetal glycerin
  • 600 ml water

How to Make:

Peel the cucumber, and juice it using a slow juicer ideally, or a regular high-speed one.

Put the chamomile flowers in a jar and the hot water over. Infuse for 20 minutes, then slip the tea and let it cool down, until lukewarm. Pour the glycerin in the chamomile tea, stirring continuously. Then add the cucumber juice too, and mix.

Pour the lotion in a glass bottle, seal and keep it in the fridge.

How to Use:

Pad it on your face, decolletage and neck areas, on the clean skin. You can use it in the following 10 days.
