Looking for a natural remedy for ankylosing spondilitis?

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is an inflammation of the vertebrae in the spine. The inflammation can lead to severe or chronic pain. In extreme cases this form of spondylitis can cause stiffness and lack of mobility.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine. It can also cause inflammation, pain and stiffness to other joints in the body.

In some rare cases, the eyes, the heart and the lungs can also be affected.

Allopathic medicine hasn’t yet figured the exact cause for ankylosing spondylitis. They point to sex, age and genetics as being the risk factors.

In alternative medicine, inflammation such as AS is a sign that there’s a bigger problem that needs treatment. So, inflammation is not the problem, but the sign that there is a problem in the body.

What Causes Inflammation?

Best-selling author and medium, who’s helped so many people heal from autoimmune conditions, Anthony Williams believes there are only 2 reasons for any kind of inflammation:

  • Physical injuries
  • Pathogens (viruses, bacteria and parasites)

He is convinced that there’s no such thing as the body attacking itself, or heredity when it comes to mysterious illness. In fact, what causes most mystery illnesses, such as ankylosing spondylitis, is a pathogen load that feeds of the toxicity in the body. As mentioned above, the other cause for body inflammation can be a physical injury.

You can find out more about his take on mystery illnesses by listening to his podcast The Truth about Inflammation.

A Home Remedy for Ankylosing Spondylitis

This herbal remedy is an ointment that you can easily prepare yourself. It is anti-inflammatory and revulsive, and has been successfully used for patients with ankylosing spondylitis. For this remedy, you will need:

  • 10 g mistletoe
  • 20 g wild red vine leaves
  • 15 g ivy
  • 20 g red clover
  • 20 g arnica
  • 15 g pine buds

Put all the herbs in a glass jar and pour in 100 ml 60° alcohol. Let the herbs macerate in the alcohol for the following 24h. Add 500 ml non GMO corn germ oil and steam the macerate on bain marie for 3 hours. When this is done, strain the herbal oil using a cotton gauze. Pour it in a dark colored bottle and store in the fridge.

You can use it as is, or you can add 50 g of molten beeswax in it and make it an ointment. Keep the cream in the fridge also. Use the oil/cream twice a day to gently massage the painful areas.

In addition, to help calm down the pain you can have natural aspirin, made from willow bark. Here is how you can make aspirin at home. Or prepare a meadowsweet tea, a natural anti-inflammatory tea.
